The Songs I Liked From The 60's ... What An Era!
The Era I Grew Up In ... We Rocked And We Rolled ... We Changed Our Style ... We Wore Flowers In Our Hair!
For some reason these songs have stayed with me over any others through my life. Maybe it's because they are the first Artists in Music I really listened to in my early teens and up. I've come to like many, many other songs and Artists through the years but for some strange reason when I hear these old songs I can't help but smile, sing along and remember those days as an impressionable teenager.
After looking though all the video's available I was reminded how diverse that musical era was, I didn't realize it at the time. We had light hearted music from the Beach Boys, The Supremes, Elvis, The Monkeys, and many more on into the anti-war Vietnam era demonstrations and the music that came from that. I can't forget 'Flower Power' either ... wonderful music from the Hippie cultures (remember "San Francisco ... Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Her Hair and "Cowsills ... The Rain, The Park & Other Things? You can hear them below ) Oh and I can't forget The Mama's & The Papa's either. What a time in music we had ... take your pick it was there. And the funny thing is I remember my parents saying, "You can't call that music and it will never last!" But it sure did and has always stayed with me.
I hope you enjoy them too!

The Beatles On The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 - Up Front And Personal!
I remember sitting in front of the TV watching the "Ed Sullivan" Show and the Beatles being introduced. My Dad sat there and said, "That's not music, they'll never go anywhere with that music!" Well I guess we were ready for a change weren't we? I personally owned several of their original albums.

White Rabbit by The Jefferson Airplane
Fortunate Son By Creedence Clearwater Revival
The Vietnam War brought out the rebellion side of a lot of us. I say us because I didn't like it either. I watched the young men from my school go off to war and watched "some" come back, some didn't make it back, bothered by what they saw and most unable to talk about their experience in Vietnam.
