Nacho's Chips 'Yummy' Our Way For A Snack Or For Dinner
Sometimes We Want Something That's Not So Healthy
Nacho Chips Our Way....yeah we know they aren't the healthiest but sometimes we just have to have it our way! Well my hubbies way. When he first told me that he liked his Nacho's this way I thought Yuck...then I tried them and from the first bite I though Wow these are different and really good.
So I thought I'll share this recipe. Of course there is ways to lighten them up with low fat cheese and leave the pepperoni off (WHAT?)...umm not me but you can add or subtract what you like. There is so many ways you could make them to suite you ... be a pioneer and make them your way!
We recently had our Nacho's for dinner. After I microwaved them for 40 seconds I added chopped lettuce, chopped tomato, a little chopped red onion and some jalapeno peppers. A little sour cream on top and they are topped off and ready to eat in less than 15 minutes.
Have fun life is short!
History Of The Nacho's
The Nacho's were first created in 1943 by Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, the original nachos consisted of fried corn tortillas covered with melted cheddar cheese and pickled jalapeño peppers. Nachos were originated in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, just over the border from Eagle Pass, Texas, (It is said that it was first made in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico) at a restaurant called the Victory Club, owned by Rodolfo De Los Santos.
One day in 1943, the wives of ten to twelve U.S. soldiers stationed at Fort Duncan in nearby Eagle Pass were in Piedras Negras on a shopping trip, and arrived at the restaurant after it had closed for the day. The maître d', Ignacio "Nacho" Anaya, invented a new snack for them with what little he had available in the kitchen: tortillas and cheese. Anaya cut the tortillas into triangles, added longhorn cheddar cheese, quickly heated them, and added sliced jalapeño peppers.

- optional - onions

Instructions
- Start with a plate or pan (if you are going to use the oven to heat them) and add a layer of your favorite brand "Nacho Cheese" flavored tortilla chips. Cover the bottom of the plate or pan, depending on how many people you are serving. Next spread a thin layer of mozzerlla cheese over them, then a layer of pepperoni (I know this sounds like another flavor food but it's delicious on these chips) to cover the mozz, then a thin layer of american cheese broken into pieces or a layer of grated cheese of your liking. Add another layer for a large group or stop there it's totally up to you on how many layers and how much you want to make.
- If you are heating in a microwave then place your plate inside and heat approx 40 sec. or until your cheese has melted. If you are heating in a conventional oven then heat them also just until cheese melts. Check bottom layer to make sure they are not baking brown as they might have a burned flavor if that happens.
- After you remove from microwave or oven eat them as they are or top with jalapeno peppers, chopped tomatoes, your favorite salsa, lettuce, or any other topping that you love.
- Enjoy!
